Privacy Policy

Hedgehog Baby Note takes the privacy of caregivers and children seriously. This page explains, as plainly as possible, what information we do not collect and what we store in your browser.

Information we never send to a server

We do not send or collect the following information in this version of the service.

• Your child's name or photo
• The caregiver's name
• The exact birth date (calculations happen only inside your browser)
• Address, phone number
• Health status or the details of development checklist results
• Location information
• Growth measurements such as height, weight, and head circumference, and growth calculation results (percentile, Z-score, etc.)
• Answers or notes entered in the Growth Center or the play-style fun feature

The birth date and checklist status entered in the age calculator and development checklist, and the measurements entered in the Growth Center, never appear in a URL, an analytics event, or a server log.

Browser storage (localStorage)

The items below are saved to this device's browser storage (localStorage)only when you explicitly choose "Save" or "Save to this browser." If you don't choose to save, nothing is stored, and the data disappears when you leave the page.

• Your child's birth date (if you chose to save it on the age calculator or Today's Note)
• Observation status selected in the development checklist (e.g., "often," "sometimes")
• Infant health checkup "mark as complete" checkboxes (a note you leave yourself — not an automatic determination)
• Play favorites, completions, "do next" list, and recently viewed play (only the play title/slug is stored)
• Growth Center records (measurement date, height/weight/head circumference, measurement method, notes) — saved only when you press "Save record"

This data never leaves your browser, and can always be fully deleted using the "Delete all" button on each screen (Today's Note, Development Check, Health Checkups, Growth Center, etc.).

Exporting growth records (JSON/CSV)

When you choose "Export as CSV" or "JSON backup" in the Growth Center, your saved growth records are saved as a file to this device's downloads folder. This file contains the measurement date, height, weight, head circumference, and notes exactly as entered, so please be careful not to share it with anyone other than, for example, showing it to a doctor or moving it to another device of your own. "JSON restore" can load this file back in, and files with an invalid format are rejected.

Analytics

No analytics tool is actually connected right now. The code only has a prepared interface for logging events; connecting a real analytics service (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) will happen only after a separate policy decision, and we will update this page at that time. Until then, no usage event leaves this site.

If we do connect one, it is pre-restricted to only broad, anonymous categories like these:

• Event names: dashboard view, age calculation complete, development check start/complete, play filter applied, play detail view, related content click, favorite toggle, print/calendar/share click, ad impression (after ads are introduced), Growth Center view/record added/chart tab switch/export, official calculator or checkup link click, fun hub view and each fun feature start/complete
• Allowed parameters: page type, content slug, entry source, broad age band, filter type, measurement type (which of height/weight/head circumference — not the value itself), and anonymous play-style tags

The actual birth date, child's name, specific unobserved development items, checklist results, vaccination/checkup completion status, health notes, email/phone number, and alsoactual measurement values such as height/weight/head circumference, calculated percentiles/Z-scores, growth records themselves, and per-question answers from fun featuresare blocked at the code level from ever being included in an analytics event (in development, attempting to include such a value throws an error immediately).

Cookies and ads

Ads are currently fully disabled. Before AdSense approval, no ad script loads at all, and no ad-related cookies are used. If we are approved and actually introduce ads, we will update this policy and notify you. Even once ads are active, we will never place ads near the birth date input, calculate button, checklist, results screen, save/delete buttons, favorite/complete buttons, vaccination/checkup completion checks, share/print/calendar buttons, emergency notices, high-risk safety warnings, or — in the Growth Center — measurement inputs, the calculate button, growth records, charts, K-DST guidance, fun features (play-style questions/results, roulette, bingo, preference tournament), or share cards.
